CASS Alumni recognised at inaugural Alumni Awards

CASS Alumni were recognised at the inaugural Alumni Awards ceremony held at University House on Saturday 9 March. The awards recognised nine recipients and three finalists for their contributions to society.

Katrina Marson, Student of the Year joint winner, BA/LLB (Hons) '12, GDLP (expected 2013)

The strong sense of community that Katrina, a Canberra native, brought with her when she enrolled at ANU in 2008 contributed to the founding of ANU Volunteers. Now known as ANU V, the group is one the largest on campus with nearly 600 students, staff and alumni donating hundreds of hours of volunteer work to organisations and events, both on campus and in the broader community.

Georgia Marjoribanks, Student of the year finalist, BA/LLB (Hons) '12

Georgia’s commitment and enthusiasm to volunteer leadership ranges from sport to assisting refugees. As a resident of Fenner Hall, she served as Sports Coordinator, Senior Resident and Community Coordinator. She was a representative on the ANU Students’ Association and a member of various student clubs. Georgia was involved in the ANU Aid and Development Community and has been an energetic member of the Cross-Disciplinary Student’s Academy at ANU since its establishment. An active sportswoman, Georgia has represented ANU at the University Games in hockey.

The College wishes to congratulate Katrina and Sarah on this outstanding achievement.
